Kirketon Road Centre is committed to providing culturally appropriate and holistic health care when working with Aboriginal clients. Our programs empower clients to participate in decision making relating to their own health and wellbeing and promote reconnection to Country and culture. The Itha Mari program encompasses men’s and women’s health groups, mob lunch and weekly yarning circles. These events encourage Aboriginal clients to give voice to their health needs and other concerns, working with engaging cultural activities such as artwork, weaving, painting, beading and storytelling. The Deadly Liver Mob (DLM) is a health promotion program aimed at increasing understanding and testing of hepatitis C, and other blood-borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections among Aboriginal people in NSW.
