Hands and Feet provide vegetables, fruit, hampers, canned and packaged food, drinks, bottled water and milk when available, to families and people in need through local churches who make it available to their surrounding community at no cost. Food for the Community via the Local Church
Hands and Feet provide vegetables, fruit, hampers, canned and packaged food, drinks, bottled water and milk when available, to families and people in need through local churches who make it available to their surrounding community at no cost. Each Friday night a team of Hands and Feet volunteers also travel to the Sydney CBD and it’s surrounding suburbs to deliver food packages to those living on the street. We not only provide help to many in desperate need, but we begin to build relationships with them and encourage them to rebuild their lives. In a world full of hurting and struggling people our mission is to be there for people who need a helping hand.

What started as Sunday community meal to help those feeling lonely over 30 years ago, Canice’s Kitchen has now transformed into a daily service providing support to men and women experiencing homelessness and social exclusion. We are now also operating weekly health, legal and employment clinics, daily showers with access to toiletries and personal care items and brand new clothing, supplied by our partner Thread Together. We recently launched our Community Support Program, a bespoke employment training program which supports our Guests back into paid work.

The Partnership between Kooloora and Second bite started in 2019. The aim of the program is to provide free food to some of the most disadvantaged members of the community. The program started as a pilot primarily targeting the residents living in and around Bilga Crescent. It quickly grew and expanded to include households living as far as Botany and Maroubra. Our staff collect the food from the supplier and bring it to Kooloora for sorting and packing. Food parcels are collected by the recipients in the community.

S.W.A.G. serves their communities by providing basic necessities for a dignified human life such as; hot meals, fresh fruit, water, clothing, blankets, sleeping bags and basic human connection. Additionally, S.W.A.G. assists homeless individuals residing on the streets find permanent accommodation, thus offering them a safer environment whilst they get back on their feet.

We can provide supermarket vouchers or cash to people when they have no other options to access food. Please contact us if you need help.
